NSG 250 - Maternal/Child Nursing Theory Description: Health promotion in the context of the family with a focus on the mother and child. Includes concepts of nursing care for the developing family from preconception to perinatal and postpartum care of the mother and neonate. Encompasses normal and high-risk reproductive issues, women's health, and developmental care of the child from infant through adolescence. Integrates the competencies of nursing knowledge to include patient-centered care, professionalism, leadership, systems-based practice, informatics and technology, communication, teamwork and collaboration, safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
Prerequisites: NSG 150 , NSG 152 , NSG 153 , NSG 155 , and BIO 205
Corequisite: NSG 240 , NSG 242 , and NSG 260
