AFL 101L - Leadership Laboratory Description: LLAB is a dynamic and integrated grouping of leadership developmental activities designed to meet the needs and expectations of prospective Department of the Air Force second lieutenants and complement the AFROTC academic program. It is a student planned, organized, and executed practicum conducted under the supervision of the Detachment Commander and Operations Flight Commander. These courses are graded pass/fail.

Course Content: This course continues with the goal of informing students about the Air Force and how it operates, as well as practicing the standards and skills to help you operate with the AFROTC and Air Force. Topics include Air Force heritage to installations and culminate with discussions of Air Force leadership traits, Core Values and the oath of commissiong to help students appreciate the "price of admission" as they consider their futures in AFROTC and the Air Force. Secondary goals are to enhance critical thinking skills about important topics such as war to exercise verbal and written communication skills.
Learning Outcomes:
- Exhibit knowledge of the basic elements of national security policy and process.
- Understand the air space power functions and capabilities.
- Understand the selected roles of the military in society and current issues affecting the military profession as well as selected provisions of the military justice system.
- Exhibit knowledge of the responsibility, authority and functions of an Air Force commander.
- Apply listening, speaking and writing skills in Air Force particular formats and situations with acccuracy, clarity and appropriate style.
- Understand the actors that facilitate a smooth transition from civilian to military life.
