Video Game Development - AAS ∞

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Video Game Development prepares students for entry into the cutting edge career field of the design and creation of video games for commercial, casual and educational markets for use on PCs, MACs, Smartphones, tablets and game consoles.

Credit Hours Required: 60

Note: This program can be completed entirely online. Not all general education options are offered online, however there will be a variety of online classes from which to choose in order to meet the requirements.

Program Outcomes


Upon successful completion of the Video Game Development Degree program, the learner will be able to:

  1. Create video games suitable for use on a PC, MAC, or mobile device. (VGD 121, VGD 122, VGD 151, VGD 152, VGD 171, VGD 172, VGD 221, VGD, 222, VGD 295)
  2. Design 3D objects and animations for use in video games. (VGD 121, VGD 122, VGD 151, VGD 152, VGD 171, VGD 172, VGD 221, VGD 222, VGD 251, VGD 252, VGD 295) 
  3. Write error free programming for use in video games. (VGD121, VGD122, VGD 171, VGD172, VGD 221, VGD 222, VGD 295)
  4. Produce video game documentation based on game design theory and principles. (VGD 180, VGD 280, VGD 295)
  5. Develop Rigged Models with animations for use in video games. (VGD 151, VGD 152, VGD 221, VGD 251, VGD 252)
