MAT 183 - Precalculus (Trigonometry) Description: Trigonometric functions, radian measure, right and oblique triangle solutions, trigonometric identities and equations, and inverse trigonometric functions. Note: Computer use and graphing calculator required (TI-83/84 recommended).
Prerequisites: MAT 097 or a satisfactory score on the mathematics skills assessment.

Course Content:
- Right angle trigonometry
- Trigonometric functions on the unit circle
- Radian and degree measures for angles
- Graphs of trigonometric functions
- The solution of oblique triangles
- Trigonometric equations
- Identities including composite angle identities
- Inverse trigonometric functions
- Introduction to vectors
Learning Outcomes:
- Use the unit circle to determine trigonometric functions and their graphs. (2,3,4)
- Solve right triangles using trigonometric ratios. (1,3)
- Solve oblique triangles using the law of sines and the law of cosines. (3,5)
- Convert degree to radian measure and radian to degree measure. (3)
- Prove trigonometric identities. (7)
