THR 150 - Theater Rehearsal and Performance Description: Rehearsal and performance of a theatrical production. Students will be required to successfully pass an audition and be cast in a full-length musical production that will be performed for a public audience.
Credits: 1 - 3 Lecture: 0 Lab: 3 - 9
Course Content:
- Audition preparation
- Character study analysis
- Technique for professional acting and/or singing
- Essential production skills (basic costuming, set construction, and painting)
Learning Outcomes:
- Demonstrate effective performance practices at an audition for one of the college's theatre productions. (1)
- Analyze character according to the dramatic action of the play. (2)
- Discern effective tactics, objectives, and motivation. (2)
- Demonstrate effective, professional techniques in both rehearsals and performances. (3)
- Exhibit basic production skills, including basic costuming, set construction, and painting. (4)
