EMS 203 - Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support Description: Designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to recognize and manage various trauma conditions and environmental injuries according to the International Trauma Life Support provider/ Prehospital Trauma Life Support guidelines. A-F grading only.
Prerequisites: Program Admission.
Credits: 1 Lecture: 1 Lab: 0
Course Content:
- Emergency scene assessment
- Comprehensive patient assessment
- Management of trauma; airway management, shock management, management of special populations (pregnancy, pediatric, geriatric, impaired, and other)
- Management of environmental emergencies

- Perform scene size-up. (1)
- Perform a comprehensive patient assessment. (2)
- Manage the airway according to International Trauma Life Support/Prehospital Trauma Life Support guidelines. (3)
