GST 151 - Novice Gunsmithing
Description: Basic study of machine tool use and firearms mechanics. Milling, turning, precision grinding, stock making, pistol function and design, and rifle function and design.

Course Content:
- Pistol smithing
- Bolt action rifle smithing
- Firearm stock systems
- Ceramic firearm finishes
- Intermediate mill and lathe operation
Learning Outcomes:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and design handguns. (1)
- Troubleshoot, repair, and design bolt action rifles. (2)
- Shape, inlet, bed, pillar, and finish firearm stocks. (3)
- Apply ceramic coatings to various firearms. (4)
- Demonstrate proficient use of manual mills, lathes, and other machine shop equipment. (5)
