BSA 495 - Research Project: Business Description: Students will engage in an independent research project under the supervision of a faculty advisor, applying business concepts and research methods from previous coursework. With faculty guidance, students will identify a research problem, conduct a literature review, and apply research methodology to prepare a comprehensive report. The course culminates in a comprehensive research paper and presentation. S/U grading only.
Prerequisites: Program Admission. BSA 394 .

Course Content:
- Fundamentals of research methods and processes (qualitative and quantitative)
- Identifying and defining a research problem
- Conducting a literature review
- Methodology design and data gathering
- Developing annotated bibliographies with primary and secondary sources
- Analyzing research data and identifying trends
- Writing a comprehensive research paper
- Presenting and defending research findings
Learning Outcomes:
- Synthesize business research trends and identify relevant research topics. (2, 3)
- Evaluate existing research and critically analyze key points and themes. (1, 5, 6)
- Design a research methodology and apply appropriate research tools. (4)
- Compose a substantial research paper demonstrating the integration of research and writing skills. (7)
- Defend research findings effectively in both written and oral formats. (8)
Required Assessment:
- Submit a written research proposal with objectives approved by the supervising faculty and program director or lead program faculty.
- Develop an annotated bibliography, including both primary and secondary sources.
- Submit a research paper demonstrating critical analysis and application of research methods.
- Present and defend research findings in a final presentation.
- Reflect on the research process and skills gained through a written self-evaluation.
