THR 132 - Acting II
Description: Builds on foundational acting skills and techniques from THR131-Acting I. Focus will be spent on further exploration of character development, voice and movement. Acting II students will not only perform a scene with a classmate, they will also be expected to perform a solo monologue.
Prerequisites: THR 131

- Methods of acting and character development
- Directing concepts
- Play, era and playwright
- Monologues
- Scenes
- Theatre terminology
- The business of acting, auditioning, and career readiness
Learning Outcomes:
- Implement various methods of acting and character development for performances. (1-6)
- Critique personal performance skills and the performance skills of others. (I, 3-6)
- Use terminology of the physical components of the acting methodology. (6)
- Analyze scripts to initiate character development and scene interpretation. (4)
- Demonstrate basic audition skills. (7)
- Describe the contribution of professional, regional, community theater and digital media. (1-7)
