IHR 150 - Emotional Balance in Reflexology

 

 
Description: Focuses on Western and Eastern theories as they relate to the balance of body, mind and spirit, as well as zone theory. Includes a hands-on component for the feet or acupressure points of the feet, hands and body points, including therapeutic meridian brushing.

Course Content:

  1. Mind-body connection
  2. Western and Eastern theories of emotional balance
  3. Zone theory and its application to emotional release
  4. Facilitated dialogue and mindful client communication
  5. Reflex points and acupressure for emotional balance
  6. Therapeutic meridian brushing
  7. Hands-on applications: feet, hands, and body points
  8. Adaptation of reflexology techniques

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Explain how life experiences and trauma may be held in specific organs and body areas. (1)
  2. Compare Western and Eastern perspectives in reflexology. (2)
  3. Identify emotional and energetic patterns in the body. (3)
  4. Facilitate a dialogue to support mindful emotional release. (4)
  5. Apply key reflex points and acupressure locations for promoting balance. (5)
  6. Perform therapeutic meridian brushing for restoring energy flow. (6)
  7. Integrate hands-on applications for feet, hands, and body points in a clothed reflexology session. (7)
  8. Adapt reflexology methods to complement massage therapy and other practices. (8)
