The Early Childhood Education Industry Certificate is approved by DES and prepares the student to enter the early care and education profession as a teacher-assistant or entry-level child care provider in a birth-preschool setting.
Credit Hours Required: 9
Eight (8) face-to-face observation hours are required for certificate completion.

Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Early Childhood Education Industry Certificate program, the learner will be able to: - Recognize typical and atypical child development of children birth to age eight.
- Identify the components of developmentally appropriate learning environments for children birth to age eight.
- Support children's social-emotional development through effective interactions with children, families, and peers.
- Describe the requirements of early childhood regulatory bodies and related professional organizations.
