The Massage Therapy Certificate provides comprehensive preparation for entry-level practice in a variety of clinical, spa, and wellness settings. The curriculum includes relaxation and therapeutic massage, massage therapy for special populations, spa treatments, and hydrotherapy. Supporting coursework includes body mechanics, anatomy, pathophysiology, business practices, and complementary and integrative health therapies.
Credit Hours Required: 36
This certificate has been submitted to the accreditor and is pending HLC approval.

Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Massage Therapy Certificate, the learner will be able to: - Demonstrate various methods of massage therapy.
- Discuss massage benefits and contraindications
- Demonstrate proper body mechanics.
- Demonstrate draping, hygiene, sanitation and safety for client care.
- Apply ethical and legal requirements for integrative health.
- Utilize anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Apply various massages to clients with specific needs.
- Communicate professionally, including verbal and nonverbal interactions, with others.
- Demonstrate clinical documentation.
- Combine professional components such as job readiness and workplace dynamics as they relate to massage therapy.
- Evaluate massage therapy's role in complementary and alternative medicine.
