- Describe the method of inheritance in haploid microorganisms, with emphasis on mutation rate. (3)
- Use the standard microbiological laboratory protocols to prepare sterile microbiological media and demonstrate the effects of chemical agents on bacterial growth. (4)
- Use the standard microbiological laboratory protocols to demonstrate the effects of antibiotics on medically important bacteria. (5)
- Describe the various methods of transmission of human disease from other humans, the environment, and animal vectors.(6)
- Describe the relationship between the human immune system and resistance to disease. (7)
- Describe the important clinical features of human diseases due to bacteria. (8)
- Describe the principal structural and genetic features of medically important viruses, and their usual clinical presentation. (9)
