SPA 201 - Intermediate Spanish I SPA 2201. Description: Development of speaking, writing, listening, and reading proficiency in Spanish at the novice high level. Culture of the Spanishspeaking world.
Prerequisites: SPA 102 or placement exam.

- Descriptions of objects, places, people, and events on topics of a subjective nature (e.g., technology, politics, personal relationships, the environment)
- Preterit tense
- Imperfect tense
- Subjunctive versus indicative mood in noun, adjectival, and adverbial clauses
- Commands
- Future tense
- Present subjunctive
- Present perfect indicative
- Present perfect subjunctive
- The writing process in Spanish
- Description of cultural norms, values, beliefs, and regional variations of areas where Spanish is spoken/used
- Historical events and figures as well as literary works from the Spanish-speaking world
