Description: Introduces and develops the aeronautical knowledge required to earn an FAA Instrument-Airplane rating.

Prerequisites: AVT 137

Course Content:

  1. Aviation publications and regulations applicable to IFR flight operations.
  2. IFR aeronautical charts
  3. IFR navigation and approaches
  4. Air traffic control system and IFR procedures
  5. Weather information and critical weather
  6. Safe and efficient IFR operations
  7. Aeronautical decision making and judgment
  8. Crew resource management

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Apply IFR aviation publications and regulations to instrument flight operations. (1)
  2. Interpret IFR aeronautical charts. (2)
  3. Explain IFR departure, enroute, arrival, and approach procedures. (3)
