AGE 101 - Riding Methods I Description: Basics in pre-ride preparation, tacking, mounting, controlling and directing a horse at the walk and trot. Emphasis on safety, fundamental patterns, and smooth transitions. Includes exercises to develop focus, feel and balance to create fluid synchronization between horse and rider. Horse ownership required or contact instructor for lease option.

- Develop effective use of riding aids of legs, seat, hands and voice. (1,6)
- Perform transitions between the walk, trot, halt and back. (1,7)
