- Strategic goals of Homeland Security and national defense
- Impacts on state and local security
- Impact on the U.S. criminal justice system
- Constitutional and ethical issues
- Risks to Homeland Security
- Impact of terrorism on the U.S. criminal justice system and national security
Learning Outcomes:
- Discuss the history and structure of the U.S Homeland Security Department. (1)
- Identify various strategic goals of Homeland Security and national defense. (2)
- Explain how Homeland Security impacts state and local security. (3)
- Discuss impact of Homeland Security on the U.S criminal justice system. (4)
- Analyze the various Constitutional and ethical issues concerning Homeland Security, including enhanced interrogation, airport security and the Patriot Act. (5)
