MAT 100  Technical Mathematics Description: Review of arithmetic skills, proportions, percentages, exponents, algebraic equations of the first degree, basic geometry, and literal equations with applications designed for the student's own field of study.
Prerequisites: MAT 082 or a satisfactory score on the mathematics skills assessment.

 Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of rational numbers
 Ratio and Proportion
 Percents
 Rules of exponents
 Fractional exponents and radicals
 First degree equations
 Literal equations
 Geometry
 Measurement including the metric system
 Right Triangle Trigonometry
 Logarithms
Learning Outcomes:
 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide signed rational numbers. (1)
 Apply whole number exponent laws to simplify expressions. (4)
 Convert rational exponents to radical form and radicals to fractional exponents. (5)
 Solve problems involving ratios and proportions. (2, 6)

 Solve linear equations in one or more variables. (6, 7)
 Solve formulae for one variable in terms of other variables. (6, 7)
