BSA 400 - Business Policy and Strategic Planning Description: Introduces key concepts and tools for strategy formulation and competitive analysis. Focuses on the skills and business judgment required to devise strategies that position the firm to maximize long-term profits under conditions of uncertainty and competition. The firm is viewed holistically by integrating policies for each functional area into an overall competitive strategy.
Prerequisites: Program Admission. ACC 131, BSA 131, CSA 110, ECN 232, and ECN 236.

Course Content:
- Key concepts in the strategy formulation and competitive analysis literature
- Tools and techniques for analyzing a firm strategically
- External and internal strategic factors that determine the success of the firm
- Ideas and theories from functional courses such as accounting, finance, marketing, and supply chain management
- Current topics of relevance and interest to strategic business managers
