AIT 115 - Hydraulic Systems Description: Introductory course in the principles of hydraulic system operation, component construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation.

Course Content:
- Safety procedures and processes
- Hydraulic power systems and their functional characteristics
- Hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and accumulators
- Maintenance of hydraulic systems
- Hydraulic schematic symbols
Learning Outcomes:
- Identify shop hazards and emergency procedures. (1)
- Utilize safety data sheets for chemicals in the shop environment. (1)
- Describe the operation, features and functions of hydraulic power systems. (2)
- Install hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and accumulators. (3)
- Operate hydraulic systems, including the adjustment of hydraulic pressure control valves in a given hydraulic system. (3)
- Test hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and accumulators. (3)
- Perform maintenance on hydraulic components, including inspection, removal, and replacement. (4)
- Interpret hydraulic schematics, including identifying schematic symbols, process flow, and operation of the components and systems. (5)
