RAD 200B - Radiology Clinical Education Description: Supervised clinical assignments following a structured approach involving observation, assistance, and the achievement of specific radiographic competency benchmarks over the course of a semester. These experiences are designed to help students develop essential skills in patient care and radiographic positioning through a competency-based approach.
Prerequisites: RAD 200A and RAD 215 .
Corequisite: RAD 250 and RAD 255 .
Credits: 3 Lecture: 0 Lab: 9
Course Content:
- Organizational orientation of assigned placement
- Adherence to the professional practice standards established by American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)
- Practicing in accordance with the ethical standards set by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Planning and time management
- Communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving
- Specialized equipment, tools, and software
Learning Outcomes:
- Clearly articulate job responsibilities and position within the assigned organization. (1)

Required Assessment:
- Documentation of student clinical hours meeting or exceeding the program's minimum semester requirements.
- Daily log of exams: observed, assisted or performed.
- Maintenance of competency log.
- A minimum of two evaluations by the clinical coordinator per rotation.
- Midterm Evaluation
- Final Affective Evaluation
- Student's evaluation of the clinical site and clinical preceptor.
- Image analysis oral presentation.
- Complete a minimum of 15 competencies until completion.
