REL 270 - Christianity


Description: Introduction to the history and complexities of Chrisitanity. Emphasis on what underlies the enduring fabric of Christianity, the tensions straining it today, and its relationship with modernity.

Disclaimer: This course is currently under review for eligibility as a General Education course. It will not fulfill a General Education requirement unless it is recognized as such by at least one of the three public state universities, and also accepted as a departmental elective by at least one other.

  4. Christian traditions
  5. Contemporary issues facing Christianity

  2. Explain big ideas, historical movements, and cultural events of Christianity. (3)
  3. Identify the plurality of the tradition(s) within Christianity. (4)
  4. Examine intellectual and artistic voices of Christianity. (1-5)
  5. Analyze contemporary issues facing Christianity's relationship with modernity. (5)
