RAD 102 - Limited Radiographic Positioning Lab I


Description: Application of radiographic positioning for the upper and lower extremities, shoulder girdle, and chest.

Prerequisites: Program Admission. BIO 160  or BIO 201  (may be taken concurrently)

  2. General and patient considerations
  3. Positioning considerations
  4. Image analysis standards
  5. Image production factors and corrective actions

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Use radiographic technique using anatomic, positioning, and projection terminology. (1,3,4,5)
  2. Apply patient communication techniques and planning. (2,3)
  3. Apply patient positioning techniques for common exams. (3)
  4. Perform image analysis evaluating the anatomy, the radiographic image appearance, characteristics of structures visualized, and if the radiograph is acceptable or requires corrective action. (1,4,5)
  5. Employ image production factors and corrective action for routine positions. (5)
